TOWNSEND — Leslie Doherty, Ways of Color artist/owner, will lead a workshop on creating your own mosaic stepping stone at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 19, at the Townsend Public Library, 12 Dudley Road.
Doherty has over 32 years of experience designing, creating and teaching stained glass art.
Combining her Master of Science Degree in occupational therapy with her expertise in the art of stained glass, she has welcomed opportunities to work in a myriad of settings with diverse populations.
She currently exhibits and creates at Potlatch Studio and Gallery in Amesbury.
“Mosaics is the ‘art of imperfection’,” said Doherty. “So, you do not need to be an artist to participate and hopefully enjoy creating a garden stepping stone which is the activity of choice for this upcoming workshop.”
Doherty says her goal is always for patrons to leave her class feeling better than when they arrived.
“As a stained-glass artist of 32 years, I give everyone credit for trying something they may never have tried before,” she said. “I also appreciate the support/business from the library, and I am sure all the attendees will enjoy going home with a keepsake item.”
There is a $20 materials fee that will be collected at the start of the class.
