Tremont Street is one of the oldest streets in Boston, and Tremont the cat is just 5 years old, but spent most of that time on local streets.
Like his Boston namesake, Tremont has a notable dignity, but will need socialization. He is a beautiful ebony-black cat, and our experience with black cats is that they can be gentle and affectionate (many may have “British or American Bombay” ancestry — those were cats bred to be sweet little “house panthers” in the 19th century).
Ahimsa Haven volunteers report that he is responsive to love and patience — treats and catnip also ring his bell. He would do best in a home without small children, and with folks willing to let him learn trust and kindness at his own pace.
Visit ahimsahaven.org and if you can’t adopt, share his story.
