As the Townsend Military Band takes the stage Thursday for another rousing performance, Townsend Ashby Youth Baseball and Softball will be stepping up to the plate to host the weekly lawn party.
TAYBS members will be offering up hotdogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, cold soda and bottled water to hungry concertgoers.
For the July 21 show, a bounce house will be setup on the town common, offering fun for younger music fans.
The Townsend Military Band will open its concert at 7:30 p.m. by playing “John Williams: The Symphonic Marches” arranged by Higgins and the “Bacharach & David Medley.” “Hollywood Milestones” arranged by Higgins, the “St. Julien March” edited by Tousignant, and Barker’s arrangement of the “Broadway Showstoppers Overture” will be performed.
“Pixar Movie Magic” arranged by Brown and the “Zacatecas Mexican March” arranged by Glover will also be included in the first portion of the concert.
Following intermission, King’s “Peacemaker March” and the “English Folk Suite” by Vaughan Williams will be offered. Anderson’s “Blue Tango” and Bidgood’s “Sons of the Brave March” will be performed before the band concludes its concert at 9:30 p.m. with the “Star Spangled Banner.”
