LOWELL – There’s not a better venue for the Lowell Summer Music Series than Boarding House Park.

But with temperatures set to soar today into the high 90s with high humidity, concert organizers decided to move this evening’s show indoors to the air-conditioned Lowell Memorial Auditorium.

Taking the stage is JJ Grey & Mofro.

Forecasters expect the heat index to surpass 100 degrees, necessitating the move from Boarding House Park to the venerable downtown venue five blocks away.

LSMS General Manager Peter Aucella told The Sun that they expect an attendance of about 1,100 people and Lowell Memorial Auditorium holds 2,800 people.

Ticket holders have been notified and the announcement has been posted to the Lowell Summer Music Series website and Facebook page.

Anyone with questions is asked to call the Lowell Memorial Auditorium box office at 1-800-657-8774, ext. 4.
