WESTFORD — The arraignment of Westford Academy history teacher Michael Colson has been postponed for a third time.

As The Sun has previously reported, Colson, of Littleton, is facing harassment and identity fraud charges after he allegedly harassed Westford resident Jannelle Cioffi from late 2019 to mid-2020 through fake Facebook and email accounts.

Colson, who is currently on leave from his job, was scheduled to be arraigned Tuesday in Ayer District Court. The new arraignment date is April 16.

Colson, allegedly posing as “Kate Lawson,” allegedly created several Facebook groups with names such as “Divisible Westford Traditional Massachusetts” and repeatedly made Cioffi an admin of the groups. When police tracked the IP address from the accounts to Colson, he said he could not say the accounts were not him.

The Sun also shared Cioffi’s side of the story, during which she shared that she is likely planning to leave Westford following the months of harassment.

The Sun is awaiting a comment from the district attorney’s office on the reason why the arraignment date has been repeatedly delayed.
