HUDSON, N.H. — A Townsend man is facing a trio of charges — including drunken driving — after police said he fled the scene of a motor vehicle crash in his pickup truck, which he later abandoned less than a mile away from the crash site.
Terry Allen, 40, is accused of driving his pickup truck into another vehicle that was parked at Soho Restaurant on Lowell Road shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday, according to a Hudson, N.H., Police Department press release.
He then allegedly left the scene of the crash without exchanging information or reporting the collision to police. After talking to witnesses at the scene of the crash, police said they located Allen’s pickup truck behind the Kiwanis softball field on Cross Street.
Allen was contacted a short time later and placed under arrest, according to police.
In addition to driving while intoxicated, police charged Allen with conduct after an accident and resisting arrest.
He refused bail and was transported to the Hillsborough County House of Corrections to await arraignment.
