TOWNSEND – Firefighters from Townsend and several area towns battled a three-alarm fire that broke out in a barn on Turnpike Road early Tuesday morning.
The police arrived to find heavy fire showing from a barn at about 1:30 a.m.
The fire quickly went to three alarms due to the amount of fire.
No animals were believed to be in the barn, just farm equipment.
It’s the second major fire in Townsend in as many days. Early Monday morning, the rectory at St. John the Evangelist Church was destroyed in a four-alarm fire.
This is a developing story.
