WESTFORD — What a sweet way to kick off summer on June 20, when the faithful and dedicated Team Forever Young gathered at the home of team captain and Chairwoman Nancy Cook and her husband, Chet, for a 10-mile walk that started at their home and also finished.
All proceeds benefited the American Foundation for Suicide, Save Lives and Bring Hope to Those Affected by Suicide and Out of the Darkness overnight walks.
The sharp-dressed team, all donning pink T-shirts, walked to honor the loss of a sibling, child, relative, friend, spouse or partner, parent, first-responder or military member, and even for their own personal struggles.
Though the American Foundation for Suicide walk in New York City was canceled, most of Cook’s team still wanted to walk. Thank you to the Westford Police Department and Deputy Chief Mark Chambers, who made a safe route and assisted in the long walk.
According to Nancy, she and her fabulous team, even during this horrible time, were hoping to raise $100,000, but they went way over, raising $112,792.
