Operation Service, a nonprofit veterans organization, will donate free trees to military members and veterans this holiday season.

The special event, called “Trees for Soldiers,” is being hosted by Devens Reserve Forces Training Area, formerly known as Fort Devens, beginning at noon Friday, Dec. 6, near the Quebec Street gate.To help spread the word, Operation Service has partnered with The Boston Bruins Foundation and the VFW. Members of The Boston Bruins Foundation, including Executive Director Bob Sweeney, will be in attendance, along with the Bruins’ mascot, Blades.”

All active-duty military, reservists, National Guard, retirees, veterans, and dependent family members are qualified to receive a tree with an ID.
