PEPPERELL — The Wilson Brothers Heating & Air Conditioning recently held its annual Labor Day Charity Golf Outing in memory of Gary Garafola, who died tragically on Sept. 22, 2012.

The golf outing was held to recognize and to thank Wilson Brothers’ outstanding employees while collecting several thousand dollars for local food pantries. Tom, Paul and John Wilson, who were born and raised in Pepperell, believe in giving back to all their valued employees for all they do for their company, and to their valued customers. They also believe it is just as important to give back to the neediest in the community.

“We truly believe helping the local families with their daily needs who need it is grass-roots charity,” Tom Wilson said.

This year’s outing collected $7,500, raising the grand total to more than $40,000 since its inception. The local food pantries — PACH and Loaves and Fishes — combined serve the communities of Ayer, Devens, Dunstable, Groton, Harvard, Littleton and Shirley not only with food and personal-hygiene products, but also direct them in a continued effort to make their way on their own if they can.

Both PACH and Loaves and Fishes are undergoing transition in their buildings of operation and need money to update the structures to better serve all neighbors in need. The Wilson Brothers and their outstanding staff and business partners have always been willing to give back to local communities.
