AYER – Police responded to reports of a woman who entered the Nashoba Valley Medical Center’s office building on Thursday and told a staff member she was armed.
Deputy Police Chief Brian Gill said that a woman entered the office around 12:30 p.m. and told a receptionist that she had a gun.
Police officers soon arrived at the scene with members of the Ayer Fire Department on standby. Gill said that once police brought the situation under control, it was determined that the woman actually had no firearm on her.
Gill said she was then taken to the hospital’s Emergency Room for an evaluation.
