TOWNSEND — The Townsend Military Band will conclude its 2019 Thursday evening concert series on the Townsend Common on Aug. 29.

Townsend Fire/EMS personnel will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bacon cheeseburgers, and sausages with peppers and onions to benefit the Townsend Fire/EMS Relief Association. They also will sell cold soda and bottled water.

It is hoped that several community groups and causes will be benefittng from some of the other concessions set up on the Common during the Aug. 29 band concert. A variety of home-baked goods should be among the other items available for purchase.

The Townsend Military Band will open its concert at 7:30 p.m. by playing “Bravura” edited by Diller and “The King and I Selections” by Rodgers. The “St. Julien March” by Hughes, “Carousel Selections (Waltz, June Is Bustin Out All Over, A Real Nice Clambake, You’ll Never Walk Alone),” arranged by Leidzen, and Murtha’s arrangement of “Glenn Miller In Concert” will be performed. Osterling’s “Costa Brava,” Reed’s arrangement of the “Pajama Game Overture,” and Bagley’s “National Emblem March” will be included in the first portion of the evening program.

Hildreth’s arrangement of the “Our Director March” and Brown’s arrangement of “Singing In The Rain” will be played following intermission. Brown’s arrangement of “Highlights from Jersey Boys” and Sousa’s “Stars and Stripes Forever” will be performed before the Townsend Military Band concludes its concert at 9:30 p.m. by playing the “Star Spangled Banner.”
