SHIRLEY — The Tedesco Duo — Arielle Burke, flute, and Catherine O’Kelly, guitar — will perform at Shirley Meeting House on Saturday, Aug. 17 at 7 p.m.
The Tedesco Duo has been praised for their communicative playing and for performing a repertoire that is colorful and spirited. The program will feature selections from Phillip Houghton, Roberto Sierra, Gabriel Fauré and Ástor Piazzolla and is sponsored by Shirley-based Golden Girl Granola. Admission is $15 at the door and the performance will be followed by a reception with light refreshments including Golden Girl granola bars.
You are missing out if you have yet to attend a musical performance at the Shirley Meeting House. This beautiful, historic structure was built in 1773 and is preserved and maintained in pristine condition by the First Parish Meeting House Preservation Society of Shirley, a non-profit charitable organization. Performers often ask to return to the Meeting House because of its fine acoustics.
The Shirley Meeting House is located on the Shirley Center Common, 41 Brown Road, Shirley. Please visit the Meeting House website at www.shirleymeetinghouse.org for more information.
