    More than 100 young athletes took part in the Lunenburg Basketball Camp earlier this month. Attendees learned from a staff of talented coaches and assistants, and took part in several fun skills competitions.

LUNENBURG — The 31st annual Lunenburg Sports and 32nd annual Lunenburg Basketball camps were held during the weeks of July 8-11 and July 15-18, respectively. Dale Diamantopoulos directed both camps.

The Sports Camp hosted 42 participants who stayed active in a number of activities, including traditional team games, cooperative games and game variations, just to name a few.

The Basketball Camp hosted 100 eager youngsters of all ages who braved the heat to work on their skills with the help of a camp staff that included Assistant Camp Director Krista Diamantopoulos, Bob Robuccio, Derek Patno, Bob Membrino, Robbie Brand and Camp Health Consultant Susan Diamantopoulos, along with Lunenburg varsity basketball players Grace Hedlund, Lauren Blomgren and Will Peplowski.

Special thanks goes out to the camp sponsors, and especially the Lunenburg Turkey Hill Family Lions Club for offering scholarships to campers in need.
