WESTFORD – Samantha Archer of Pepperell, a postgraduate student in the Early Childhood Education program at Nashoba Valley Technical High School, has been selected as the top postsecondary student in the state.
Archer is the recipient of the Massachusetts Association of Vocational Administrators’ Post Secondary Award, which is based on a postgraduate student’s commitment to postsecondary vocationaltechnical education; success in vocational-technical clinical affiliations; success in academic components of the technical program in which she is enrolled; evidence of good personal character and leadership; and involvement in school and community activities.
Each technical school in the state nominates one postgraduate student for the honor, and Archer was selected as the top postsecondary student in the state.
Archer will receive an Associate Degree in Human Service from Mt. Wachusett Community College and plans to pursue a Bachelor Degree in Early Childhood Education. She is also pursuing certification as an EMT and hopes to follow in her father Robert Archer’s footsteps and work for a local fire department. Robert Archer is a retired on-call firefighter in Pepperell.
