LOWELL — Duke-bound senior Aiden Felty of the Innovation Academy Charter School in Tyngsboro has dominated the New England shot-put scene this winter like no student-athlete in history.

The Billerica native captured the All-State championship on Saturday at the Reggie Lewis Center with a toss of 66 feet, 4.25 inches, a meet record. Amazingly, he broke the meet record with five of his six attempts.

Meanwhile, Tewksbury High School sophomore Makayla Paige had her name stamped on a number of lofty standards when she captured the MIAA All-State 600-meter run with a time of 1:29.71 at the Lewis Center.

Her time is No. 1 all-time in Massachusetts track history, No. 1 all-time in New England, No. 3 all-time for a United States high school sophomore, and No. 7 all-time in the country for any high school athlete.

A decision will be made later this week on whether Paige, 15, will run in Saturday’s New England Championships. Felty will compete.

The Innovation star has his name on nine of the top 10 indoor shot-put distances all-time in New England, and owns all 10 of the best throws in Massachusetts.

The following chart indicates just how dominant Felty has become in his event in the last two indoor seasons:
