Suspects in Pepperell stolen firearm case to be arraigned Jan. 2

PEPPERELL — Two people arrested in connection to a firearms theft and the discovery of 16 weapons in a Pepperell home will be arraigned in Ayer District Court on Jan. 2, according to the Middlesex County District Attorney’s Office.

Wayne Shay, 36, of Nashua, and Sheri Napier, 36, of Dracut, were arrested last week, according to the Massachusetts State Police. The two face charges as fugitives from justice on New Hampshire arrest warrants.

In a press release last week, Massachusetts authorities announced they expected to file additional charges, though no further information regarding these charges was immediately available Thursday morning.

The investigation followed a “recent” theft of firearms in Nashua, New Hampshire, according to Massachusetts State Police. Following the arrest of Shay and Napier in a Dracut residence last Thursday, authorities said they located 16 stolen firearms, 17 high-capacity magazines, a 100-round drum magazine and more than 1,000 rounds of ammunition.

The arsenal found in a residence on 21 Townsend Street in Pepperell, included three AR-15-style rifles, two AK-47-style rifles, four other semi-automatic rifles and multiple pistols, according to police.
