Ski season is definitely upon us in the hills of New Hampshire, Vermont and Maine.

Here’s a look at some of the upcoming activities and dates at New England Alpine ski areas, with web sites for more precise information:

Nov. 29: Opening Day, Mount Sunapee Resort, N.H. — Get the actual first tracks this season at Mount Sunapee as they spin the lifts for the start of the new campaign.

Nov. 30- Dec. 2: A traditional Christmas in Stowe, Vt. — Welcome the holiday season in the town of Stowe with tree lightings, a lantern parade, wagon rides, Santa and reindeer visits and carolers. Experience candy cane pulling and wreath making, try gingerbread and cookie decorating, and enjoy performances, ice skating and more. Mountain open for skiing and riding as well.

Dec. 1: Opening Day, Ragged Mountain Resort, N.H. — Welcome in the new season as Ragged goes full on winter with skiing, riding, lessons and après fun.

Dec. 1: REI Pray for Snow Party, Wachusett — Party with a purpose: to encourage the snow gods at Wachusett Mountain Resort. REI hosts an evening of live music, drinks, a retro fashion show (they encourage you to wear you retro fab stuff too), a ski film, fire dancers and more. Shuttles run from the Wachusett MBTA station, meaning it’s all a train ride away. 6:30-9:30 p.m.

Dec. 1-2: First Class Beginners’ Weekend, Loon Mountian, N.H. — Give Loon a weekend, and they’ll crown you a skier or rider. This weekend-long learn to ski or ride immersion program costs $439 in total, but it rewards you with your own gear at weekend’s end. Reservations are required.

Dec. 2: Santa Sunday, Sunday River, Maine — One of the nation’s — if not the world’s — most iconic early ski season events. Get a spot to be one of the 250 fully adorned Santas to ski or ride Sunday River (spots fill up fast!), or just show up to ski along with all the fun. Added bonus this year: a Dec. 1 Holly Jolly Fun Run in which you are encouraged to wear your Santa gear while running a mountainside 5k.

Dec. 5: Girl Powder Women’s Only Alpine Clinic, Bretton Woods, N.H. — On select Wednesdays during the early 2018-19 ski season, Bretton Woods offers special women’s only clinics with three-time Olympian Miki Fera. This clinic was designed by women for women and is tailored to your experience and ability on the slopes. You will also receive a spa and sport gift bag with everything you need for the day plus a few extras which will be sure to be a treat! Runs from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. Registration required.
