CHESTNUT HILL — Boston College had a school-record 13 football players earn All-Atlantic Coast Conference honors, the league announced this week, with four Eagles recognized as first-team selections, which was the most in school history as well.

The 13 All-ACC selections broke BC’s school-best mark of nine set in 2007, 2008, 2013 and 2017.

Leading the way was sophomore running back AJ Dillon, who collected All-ACC first-team honors for the second consecutive season. Dillon is a former running back for Lawrence Academy in Groton.

Dillon is also one of 20 semifinalists for the Maxwell Award, given annually to the player judged to be the best running back in college football. Despite being hampered lately by an injury, Dillon has posted great rushing numbers for BC.
