TOWNSEND — Have you seen all the open space on maps of Townsend, but wondered how to access it? Have you been looking for places to walk in Townsend? Join local trail guides for Townsend Trail Tours on Saturday, Nov. 3 at 8:30 a.m.
Guides from the Townsend Conservation Land Trust, Townsend Historical Society and Squannacook Greenways, and other volunteers, will be available at properties in Townsend. They will be happy to guide you through Howard Park (next to Hawthorne Brook Middle School), the Squannacook River Wildlife Management Area (Shirley Road), the Haynes Road. trail (at the kiosk on the left), the Howard M. Stein Memorial Park (at the top of Meetinghouse Road, off Highland Street), and the Squannacook Rail Trail (the Harbor Church).
Join us by starting with coffee and treats at 8:30 a.m. at the top of Meetinghouse Road or at the Harbor Church, then get in two or three short guided walks before lunch.
