TOWNSEND — The Townsend Fire/EMS Relief Association will host the lawn party at the Townsend Military Band’s Aug. 9 concert on the Townsend Common. Townsend Fire/EMS personnel will be selling hot dogs, hamburgers, cheeseburgers, bacon cheeseburgers, and sausages with peppers and onions. They will also have baked goods and cold soda and bottled water for sale. Fire/EMS personnel will set up several activities on the Common, including a bounce house and a dunk tank.
The show will open at 7:30 p.m. by playing “The Maine Festival March” by Hall and “Pixar Movie Magic” arranged by Brown. Murtha’s arrangement of “Glenn Miller In Concert,’ “That Ragtime Regiment Band March” arranged by Lewis, and “Poet and Peasant” arranged by Meyrelles will be performed. Bennett’s arrangement of “My Fair Lady” and “The Chimes of Liberty” march by Goldman will be included in the first portion of the concert.
Following intermission, “The Liberty Bell March” by Sousa and the “Zampa Overture” arranged by Meyrelles will be offered. “Shepard’s Hey and Irish Tune from County Derry” and Buckley’s “Honor The Founders March” will be performed before the band concludes its concert at 9:30 p.m. by playing the “Star Spangled Banner.”
