AYER — The 14th annual Janis Bresnahan 5K Run for Education will be held Sunday, May 20 at the Ayer Shirley Regional High School track, 141 Washington St.

Registration/sign-in begins at 9:30 a.m. The Tot Trot will begin at 10:30 a.m. The 2K non-competitive Fun Run and Walk will start at 11:15 a.m. The 5K competitive run will begin at noon.

All proceeds from this event will go to the Ayer Shirley Education Foundation, the local nonprofit that raises money to support educational enrichment programs in Ayer Shirley Regional School District. The 5K Run for Education is in memory of Janis Bresnahan. Janis was born May 15, 1971. She graduated from Ayer High School in 1989 and dedicated her life and work to the education of children.

This annual run for education brings in generous donations from individuals and businesses, which is how the Ayer Shirley Education Foundation is able to offer its annual granting cycle to Ayer Shirley Regional School District.
