WESTFORD — Adam Blouin of Ayer and Vinny Eramo of Shirley, both of whom led the Nashoba Tech football team to its best record (9-4) in more than a decade, were named the school’s November Athletes of the Month.
Blouin, son of Doug and Alida Blouin, is a senior co-captain and standout running back and linebacker for the Vikings, who made it to the Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association Division 8 state semifinals.
He scored three touchdowns in that game, a loss to Hoosac Valley, but had to miss the State Vocational championship game with an injury, a game the Vikings lost to Lynn Tech.
In the MIAA Division 8 Central Sectional final, a 39-16 win over Bartlett, Adam rushed for 136 yards and three touchdowns. For the season, he ate up more than 1,000 yards on the ground, for an average of just under 5 yards per carry.
Adam is in the Automotive Collision Repair & Refinishing program. He plans to attend college, continue to play football and have a career in the health field.
Eramo, son of Robert and Susan Eramo, is a senior co-captain and star quarterback/linebacker. In the MIAA Division 8 state semifinal, Vinny threw a touchdown pass and returned a kickoff 80 yards for another touchdown.
In the State Vocational Small Championship game, a loss to Lynn Tech, Vinny scored three touchdowns on the ground. In the MIAA Division 8 Central Sectional final, a 39-16 win over Bartlett, he threw two touchdown passes and ran for another.
For the season, he completed about 55 percent of his passes and tossed 23 for touchdowns. He also ran for 25 more TD’s.
Vinny also plays guard for the basketball team and catcher for the baseball team. He is a Freshman Mentor, helping incoming freshmen acclimate themselves to Nashoba Tech. Vinny is in the Electrical Technology program. He plans to attend Fitchburg State University in the fall to major in Exercise Science.
