GROTON — The time has arrived! It is here!
After several months of planning, the first chicken barbecue at Christian Union Church will be held on Saturday.
This is a drive up; someone will be selling tickets along the sidewalk; you drive up, purchase your tickets and continue on to the pick up end of the line and receive your meals, packaged, ready to travel. You don’t need to park, get out of your car, or wait in line. What could be easier?
There will be no eating at the church. The chicken will be cooked by the retired West Groton Firemen using their famous barbecue sauce, popular in the ’70s and ’80s. Serving starts at 4 p.m. and will serve until sold out.
Come early. The chicken may not last long.
The church is located on Rte 225, West Main Street in West Groton; diagonally across from the little fire station. Follow the signs to get in line. Line is on the church side of West Main Street. Please enter from the east (Groton center) to the West. For more information, call 978 448-5480.
