I watched the selectmen’s meeting on Monday night. The meeting had discussion about the warrant, dialogue with Representative Benson and Senator Eldridge, permits were approved, and how $73,000 worth of hours were donated to seniors by volunteers.
It seems things are running well at Town Hall for a change and then, with his usual personal agenda, Mr. Cappucci wrote a letter that not only attacked his opponent, but the whole Board of Selectmen as well as the Town Administrator.
It appears that the board had had enough and decided to answer his charges of half-truths and distorted facts.
From what I could see it seems that Mr. Cappucci doesn’t understand the basics when it comes to contracts and how they are properly negotiated. How many more times is this town going to have to vote Mr. Cappucci down before he goes away?
I’ve heard we have a balanced budget, money for capital items, are giving raises to employees, and funding schools, library, police, fire, and DPW. All of this is being done without going to the well (taxpayers) for more.
I can’t remember the last time the town was in such good shape, certainly not under Mr. Cappucci’s time as selectman.
During that time there were requests for override after override, prison expansion with no compensation to the town, and a Board of Selectmen at odds with one another as well as bullying and intimidation of employees.
Let’s keep Shirley moving forward. I urge you to vote for Dave Swain and leave Shirley’s past with Cappucci, in the past.
