PEPPERELL — A man was arrested for allegedly exposing himself inside an elementary school Friday morning, according to police.
Charles Jestings, 54, of Pepperell, is charged with open and gross lewdness.
He did not have any contact with any children at Varnum Brook Elementary School, police said. His alleged actions were not witnessed by any children, police added.
At 10:20 a.m., police were called to the elementary school on a report that a man entered the school and exposed himself to an employee.
Upon arrival, police learned that Jestings walked up to the front counter and was speaking with the secretary when another employee noticed that he was exposing himself.
School staff immediately led Jestings outside, where he was met by police and arrested.
“Superintendent (Joan) Landers and I want to assure all Varnum Brook parents that no students were in contact with this individual,” Police Chief David Scott said. “School staff quickly removed this individual from the building and we took over from there.”
