Habitat for Humanity North Central MA will welcome in spring with a number of upcoming activities geared to awaken the artist in everyone, including a paint night, art show and online art auction.
With the intent to raise funds to provide materials for ongoing Habitat home construction in the 25 towns in the North Worcester region, the benefit Paint Night will be held on April 28, and will be followed by both an art show on Thursday, May 12 and an online auction from May 13 until June 1.
Dubbed “Home is Where the Art Is,” the art show and subsequent auction will feature reclaimed objects that have been transformed into art pieces by local artists and members of area organizations. These pieces will be on display and up for bid and purchase from May 12 until June 1 at Habitat for Humanity NCM’s ReStore in Leominster, which will be transformed into a gallery setting to showcase each.
The public is invited to view both the art and meet the artists at a special reception on May 12 from 4 to 6 p.m. at the ReStore located at 637 Lancaster Street (Route 117) in Leominster.
There are already 30 pieces to be featured at the show. Those who have submitted work include Mare’s Chairs, Bolton Artisans Guild, Gardner Area League of Artists, Till Inc. Hudson Day Program, Lancaster Community Center, Stitched By Sally, and a number of individual artists.
The “Paint Night” on April 28 will be hosted for public participants at the ReStore by Let’s Gogh Art. Admission to this activity is $40 and registration is necessary at Let’s Gogh Art website at letsgogharteastma.com.
