PEPPERELL — A Pepperell man who was trapped in a pickup truck after it crashed was transported to the hospital with minor injuries Sunday afternoon, police said.

The Mazda pickup slid off Brookline Street just before 1 p.m. and was held up by a tree, said Lt. Todd Blain.

It is not clear what caused the crash, Blain said, but alcohol and road conditions were not a factor.

The driver, whom police did not identify, was breathing and alert after the crash. He was taken to Lahey Clinic, Blain said.

The crash remains under investigation.
