BOXBOROUGH — Chief Warren Ryder reports that the Boxborough Police Department, in conjunction with the Pike County, Ohio Sheriff’s Department and the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office is investigating a series of violent crimes that allegedly began in Boxborough and ended early this morning with an individual placed under arrest in Ohio.
The investigation is still in the preliminary stages, but it appears that a stabbing and a rape occurred several days ago at a residence on Swanson Road in Boxborough and that two victims were driven by a suspect to Ohio.
Early this morning, Pike County Sheriff’s Deputies reportedly had a standoff with the suspect, which then led to a pursuit, after which the suspect was placed under arrest.
“This is a deeply disturbing case involving acts of violence that we are still very actively investigating,” Chief Ryder said. “We greatly appreciate our partnership with our counterparts in Ohio and with the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office as this investigation continues .
This is an open and active investigation and more information will be released when it becomes available.
