Lots of funding goes to cancer research. Let’s help those who are still waiting for the cure.

HARVARD — The Virginia Thurston Healing Garden, a cancer support center located in Harvard, Massachusetts, is hosting its inaugural Ride to Thrive; this metric and half-metric fundraising bicycle ride winds through the picturesque Nashoba Valley. The ride is on Sunday, Sept. 13, with a staggered start of 8 a.m. for full century cyclists, and 9 a.m. for half-metric century cyclists. Cyclists can register at www.RideToThrive.org.

This is a supported ride, which begins in Harvard, and includes water stops, end-of-ride refreshments and prizes for best team spirit and best dressed!

All of the proceeds will benefit clients of the Healing Garden, which provides support services for cancer patients from greater Boston, Metro West and beyond.

The Healing Garden is an educational nonprofit and relies community support.
