FITCHBURG — Monty Tech’s student motivational incentive program, known as Bulldog Pride, was established many years ago for the purpose of increasing student attendance, decreasing discipline issues and promoting a better school atmosphere.
The program targets four main areas: Attendance, achievement, behavior/deportment, and recognition. Students who meet these benchmarks are eligible to receive prizes and gifts through a drawing. Prizes are funded by the Monty Tech Foundation through contributions from faculty and staff.
Drawings are held at the end of each marking quarter and at the end of the school year.
At the recently held last-day-of-school school-wide drawing, close to $2,500 in gifts and prizes were awarded to eligible students. The Monty Tech Foundation donated $1,800, with the remainder funded by faculty and staff.
Results of the recent drawing:
Ayer: Devon Mallet, Ihome wireless speaker
Harvard: Leah Robinson Dowd, $30 Wal-Mart gift card.
