Over the last few weeks, the two Groton Police Unions have sent out letters to each of your homes for our annual fundraiser.

We have moved from using the phone service, which was contracted out to a company, to doing the fundraising ourselves. So far many of you who have responded have liked the switch, since who likes pushy telemarketers!

However, we are still far below our goal of raising $20,000 to help with donating to the many community programs we sponsor each year. Examples of such community programs are the DARE program, Groton PAL, educational scholarships for graduating seniors of GDRHS, and the annual Senior Cookout (to mention a few), not to mention the various local charities we support every year.

The Groton Police Patrolman’s Association and the Groton Superior Officer Association do what we can to give back to the community that we serve, but we cannot continue to give back without the support of citizens like yourselves! So if you haven’t donated, or hadn’t decided if you were going to, please reconsider.

Every little bit helps!

Checks should be made out to GPPA or Groton Police Patrolman’s Association and can be dropped off or mailed to the Groton Police Station, c/o Rachael Mead 99 Pleasant St. Feel free to call me or email me with any questions, comments or concerns you may have.

Thank you for your continued support!
