Named in honor of the first president of WPI, this honor recognizes outstanding performance by first-year students. Thomas Wickham of Groton was among the 21 students who earned either summa, maxima, magna, or cum laude status in the 2015 National Latin Exam. More than 153,000 Latin scholars from throughout the U.S. and around the world took the exam in early March. Thomas, a member of the Pomfret class of 2017, earned Magna Cum Laude status for his performance in the Latin 2 exam.
