Edible perennial gardening May 11
Edible Perennial Gardening and Landscaping,” is a 90 minute power point presentation featuring organic techniques for the cultivation of a variety of trees, shrubs, vines, canes and herbaceous perennials for fruits, nuts, and vegetables. It will be offered by naturalist and landscaper John Root on Monday, May 11, at 6:30 p.m.
Admission is $10 at the door.
The presentation will be held at the Great Hall in Memorial Hall, 272 Main St. Plants will be offered for sale.
This program is supported in part by a grant from the Townsend Cultural Council, a local agency which is supported by the Massachusetts Cultural Council, a state agency.

34th Annual Craft Fair Saturday, May 16
Townsend United Methodist Church is hosting its 34th Annual Spring Festival and Craft Fair on Townsend Common, Saturday, May 16, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Plans include artists and crafters from throughout New England, a full food-court , baked goods, garden plants, silent auction, and music. The rain date is Sunday, May 17, noon to 4 p.m.
The craft fair committee expects this 34th Annual Spring Festival to be one of the best ever!.
Amateur and professional craftspeople are invited to display and sell their original works. Crafter registration forms are on the church website, www.townsendumc.com, or by calling the office at 978-597-2486.

Townsend’s 2nd Annual Flag Day Celebration, Saturday, June 13
Townsend’s 2nd Annual Flag Day Celebration is being planned for Saturday, June 13, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Townsend’s Common, which offers a venue that fair-goers, crafters and vendors love.
The beautiful and historic common is located in Townsend Center, at the junction of routes 13 and 119. It promises to be a fun-filled day for the whole family
There will be several military programs throughout the day, a silent auction, food court, baked goods, and games for children. There will be music to enjoy and the first 100 children will receive a free American flag.
Crafters and other vendors are invited to reserve a 12-foot-by-12-foot spaces for $25. Please call Jan Cote at 978-868-4006 for space or for more information.
There is room for over 40 crafters. If needed, June 20 is the rain date.
