Participate in the HES Festival of Cultures May 8

This year’s HES Festival of Cultures and Student Art Show will be on Friday, May 8, from 6-8:30 p.m. at HES and we need your help. The Festival of Cultures has three parts. When you walk into the building, you will be invited to view the Student Art Show. Artwork from every child in the school will be on display. In the HES gym, Ambassadors will share their culture with you. Finally, join us in the “Cafetorium” where there will be short performances, by local children, from a variety of different cultures and countries.

Please participate in one or more of the following ways:

1. Be an Ambassador: Share your family’s heritage with a display of crafts, books, clothing, posters and other items from your culture or family’s country of origin. Consider partnering with another family to host a table.

2. Perform: Present a performance (about 3 minutes) highlighting an ethnicity, culture, or country. Performances just need to have at least one child from Harvard, so consider asking your child’s dance or martial arts class to perform. Performances in the past have included martial arts or Chinese Yo-yo demonstrations, music, dances, skits and songs from various countries, cultures, and languages.

3. Attend and bring a friend! Come see the Art Show and the amazing diversity Harvard has to offer.

4. Help with clean up or set up!

Please contact Pam Gordon (pamjgordon@gmail.com) if you are willing and able to be an Ambassador, perform, or help with set up and clean up.
