WESTFORD — Jordan Forsyth of Shirley and Ryan Leedham of Townsend have been selected as February’s Athletes of the Month at Nashoba Valley Technical High School.
Jordan Forsyth, daughter of Michael Forsyth and Jennifer Rhodes, is a standout senior guard for the girls basketball team. Her three-point shooting ability helped pull out come-from-behind victories over Main South and Monty Tech, and led the Vikings to a playoff spot. In the first round against Bay Path, Jordan nailed a three-pointer late in the game to break a tie, then scored on a lay-up in an eventual victory.
She led the team with 19 three-point shots and was named Most Improved Player.
Jordan also plays volleyball and softball for the Vikings. She is in the Early Childhood Education program and is a Kick-Off Mentor for incoming freshmen. She hopes to attend the University of Massachusetts Amherst to study Psychology, with plans to become a social worker.
Ryan Leedham, son of John Leedham and Cheryl Oakland, is a junior goaltender for the hockey team.
He also plays lacrosse for the Vikings.
Ryan was selected by the staff to be a Kick-Off Mentor,helping to prepare incoming freshmen for life at Nashoba Tech.
He is in the Engineering Academy at Nashoba Tech and hopes to attend either the University of Massachusetts Lowell or Northeastern University to continue his engineering career, and is leaning toward studying Petroleum Engineering.
