AYER — The celebration of Ayer Shirley Regional High School’s diversity is approaching.
Multicultural Day started 17 years ago in honor of Evelyn Hernandez, a member of the Human Rights Squad, who passed away.
Multicultural Day celebrates the diversity through our school every year. There will be many performances from a myriad of cultures.
The Human Rights Squad will navigate your cultural experience starting from hearing Native American tribal music that has been passed down by generations, to going all the way around the world and listening to greetings from different countries.
But don’t worry — the journey has only begun. When making your stops in different countries, you will get a chance to try some of the traditional foods made by the students and staff who are part of the different countries’ cultural backgrounds.
We hope to see you here. The day program is Wednesday March 18, from 12:30-2 p.m. The evening program will be held Thursday, March 19, 6:30-8:30 p.m., in the high school auditorium.
