Work done at the Pepperell Police Station was remediation, not renovation, Police Chief David Scott wrote in an email after reading an article in the Jan. 7 edition of the Pepperell Free Press.

A few areas of mold were found and removed after the department moved back into the building, and as far as he knows, the building is free from mold.

He wrote that during the remediation project: “We removed a lot of visible mold, installed new, clean HVAC units and new carpet and flooring throughout the first floor. The building is not perfect, but it is definitely a cleaner, healthier place to work than it was prior to the project.”
