Sunday breakfast

The Ayer Sportsmen’s Club will hold a Sunday breakfast through Mother’s Day 2015, 8-11 a.m.

The available menu includes French toast, pancakes, home fries and more, with free coffee and juice. The public is welcome to attend.

Proceeds will benefit children programs sponsored by the club, which is located at 255 Snake Hill Road in Ayer, 978-772-9748. Room rentals are also available!

Well adult clinics in January

Nashoba Associated Boards of Health, in conjunction with the Ayer Board of Health, announces that a Well Adult Clinic will be held free of charge for the general public:

Friday, Jan. 16, from 11 a.m. to noon at the Senior Center, 18 Pond St., Ayer. No appointment is necessary.

Fridays, Jan. 16, 23 and 30, from 9 a.m. to noon at the Town Nurses office, 51 Cambridge St., Ayer, by appointment only.

Public hearing on block grant application Jan. 20

The town of Ayer, through its Community Development Office and Board of Selectmen, will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Jan. 20, at 7:15 p.m. to discuss the proposed federal fiscal 2015 grant application to the Massachusetts Community Development Block Grant Program.

The hearing will be held at Ayer Town Hall in the Selectmen’s meeting room located at 1 Main St., Ayer.

Any person or organization wishing to will be afforded an opportunity to be heard. Comments can be made at the public hearing or prior to the hearing by contacting the Ayer Community Development Office in writing or in person at 1 Main Street, Ayer, MA 01432 or by telephone at 978-772-8221.

An evening with Chris Herren Feb. 11

The former NBA basketball player is now a motivational speaker on issues of sobriety, an addiction with which he suffered for much of his career. Chris Herren will speak Wednesday, Feb. 11, at 7 p.m. in the ASRHS auditorium. The evening is presented by the Ayer Shirley Education Foundation.
