HES Holiday Book Gift Program donations

For over 10 years now the Harvard PTO has organized a Holiday Book Fund. Teachers will receive Barnes and Nobles gift cards to choose and purchase books for their classrooms. This program is a wonderful way for you to show your appreciation for the hard work and dedication shown by our Hildreth Elementary School teachers. Donations to the fund are split equally among all the teachers and then each teacher is able to choose and purchase books for his/her classroom. Participation in this fund is voluntary and gifts generally have ranged from $5 to $50.

Donations can be sent to school c/o Kristine Stoffregen. Checks should be made out to Harvard PTO. Each classroom has a bag designated to collect these envelopes.

Thank you very much and have a happy and safe holiday season.

Bromfield’s Giving Tree deadline Dec. 15

Bromfield Cares is working with three local organizations — DCF, LUK and Transitions — this holiday season to make children’s wishes come true. They are giving over 500 wishes and at this time still have about 200 left. If you would like to help and purchase a gift from their Giving Tree, come into the main office at Bromfield to pick out your gift tag. All wrapped gifts with the tags attached are due back at the high school’s main office by Monday, Dec. 15. They also take monetary donations, and their student shoppers will buy the gifts for you.

If you have any questions, please contact Patricia Nilan at pnilan@psharvard.org. Thank you so much for helping us make a child’s wish come true.

Think Spring! Think Fun Fair organization

The PTO is seeking someone or a team of someones to lead the PTO Fun Fair event this spring. Yes, there is snow on the ground and shopping to do, but this is a great time to get ready to plan our beloved annual spring carnival. If you like to organize activities, here is a chance to add your special ideas. We have lots of information on the event logistics and a great team of people who have worked on the event in the past, so there are already lots of pieces in place, but we need a savvy leader or two to get things into shape.

Remember Plinko and all the fun activities at Fun Fair? We are also looking for people to run the games portion of Fun Fair.

If you or a friend would like to sign up to chair Fun Fair or run the games portion of the event, please contact Lisa Rosen at ldrosen22@aol.com.

Spring lacrosse registrations underway

Note that different age brackets have different registration deadlines.

Box Top clippers — next due date Feb. 13

The Harvard PTO and Box Tops for Education Program Coordinators would like to thank you for collecting and submitting your Box Tops. Each Box Top is worth 10 cents, and with your help, we have collected $726!

Our next collection deadline of Feb. 13 will be here before you know it, so please keep sending them in. A collection sheet will be going home with HES students in the next week or so. Coordinators regularly check the collection sites, so you do not need to wait until the deadline to send them in.

* Collection sites are at the Bromfield School Office, Hildreth Elementary School lobby, and Harvard

* Currently, our schools do not participate in the “Labels for Education” program, only Box Tops are accepted.

* Please make sure product code and expiration date are present. Expired Box Tops are not valid.

* Neatly trimming Box Tops is not necessary but is appreciated

We greatly appreciate your participation! Let’s keep the momentum going over winter break so we can exceed our goal of $1,000!
