Bromfield School Council opening applications due Oct. 31
The Bromfield School has one two-year parent representative position opening for the 2014-2015 school year. This is a special election to fill a three-year term that is not able to be completed. The school council is a school building-based committee composed of the principal, parents, teachers, community members, and at the secondary level, students. Massachusetts requires that there be a school council at each public school.
If you are interested in being a parent representative, please let Lisa Rosen at ldrosen22@aol.com by Friday, Oct. 31, and send a concise statement of interest. You are eligible if you will have a student at the Bromfield School during the 2014-2015 school year. If there are two or more individuals interested, statements from each candidate will be requested and an election will be held.
For more information about the council, go to the Bromfield School Council page.
Gap Year information session Oct. 31
Gap Year? What is a Gap Year? Join us Friday, Oct. 31, at 9 a.m. at the Harvard General Store to find out more about how taking time after high school before college can help your graduating high school student. We will talk about what programs are available and how you can receive college credit.
A representative from Adventures Cross Country will answer questions about gap semesters and gap years and summer programs that are available domestically and internationally. She will tell us how gap years work.
Pick up a cup of coffee and breakfast or a muffin downstairs and join us on the second-floor at the General Store for discussion and a short presentation. Open to anyone who is curious.
