Ayer Library and ArtsNashoba plan community Yuletide celebration

PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

Vendors, exhibitors and presenters sought for regional holiday event.

AYER — Ayer Library, in partnership with ArtsNashoba, will be hosting a community Yuletide Celebration on Dec. 6, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Ayer Town Hall.

This event’s hope is to provide a family-friendly, festive place for people to go, snack, share, listen to music, buy gifts and stocking stuffers, and ENJOY, with the primary goal being to raise funds and collect donations for Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in Devens. Donations of nonperishable food items and dry goods, clothing and funds will be graciously accepted on location.

In Old Norse poetry and tradition, the word “Yule” is a synonym for “feast,” and a feast of fun is what is in store!

“The Library is thrilled we’re able to continue this event, which we started last year,” said Ayer Library Director Mary Anne Lucht. “It’ll be a fun, joyous afternoon that brings the community together for a family-friendly time to relax and enjoy wonderful activities while encouraging the spirit of giving!”

If you are a local artisan, business or organization and would like to reserve a slot to participate in the Yuletide Celebration as an exhibitor, presenter or vendor, please call JulieAnn at 978-772-2545 or email ayershirleydrama@gmail.com to make your reservation.

Vendors are asked to bring their own tables and chairs if possible. Spaces will be assigned on a first-come/first-served basis through Nov. 15 Load in/set-up begins at 10 a.m., and all are asked to be loaded out by 4 p.m. There is NO charge to participate. But as was requested last year, a portion of proceeds received be shared with Loaves & Fishes Food Pantry in the form of nonperishable food items, clothing or monetary contributions.

Loaves and Fishes is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit founded in 1983 to help neighbors in need. With the help of volunteers and donors, they serve the communities of Ayer, Devens, Groton, Harvard, Littleton and Shirley. More than 350 volunteers help over 900 client families from this area.

So please place Dec. 6, 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. on your calendars and join Ayer Library and ArtsNashoba for the second annual Yuletide Celebration at Ayer Town Hall!
