HARVARD — Bill Johnson, chairman of Harvard Cable Television, and school administrators said “thank you” to administrators, students and teachers from Montachusett Regional Vocational Technical School recently for their assistance in building the TV studio located in Bromfield School.
At a recognition ceremony held on the school grounds, Monty Tech administrators, students and teachers in the plumbing, house carpentry, electrical, masonry and welding/metal fabrication programs were recognized and presented with plaques. They were also treated to a barbecue.
Town volunteers, who assisted with the project, were also recognized.
Acting Principal Richard Nutt at Monty Tech said the work was done over a two-year period. “Although we had a lot of community building projects going on when we were approached by Mr. Johnson to work on the studio, it was a good project that had a lot of educational value for our students. We were happy to be able to assist Harvard with this project,” he said.
Monty Tech building trade crews worked on all aspects of the building, both interior and exterior.
Nutt noted that Joann Sultenfuss, Harvard’s representative to Monty Tech’s School Committee, was very helpful in getting the school involved in the project.
