SHIRLEY — Vendors are sought for the Shirley Center Farmers Market, which opens its third season on July 10.
The market is open from 4 p.m. to dusk on Thursdays starting July 10 and running through Sept. 25, on the Town Common.
Local farmers and market growers can sell high-quality produce directly to customers. The farmers’ market also offers eggs, bakery items, jams and jellies, maple products, honey, farmstead cheeses, flowers and plants, crafts and live local entertainment.
The farmers market is promoted via prominent local signage aimed at commuters, a town-wide mailing and local media. In addition, the Bull Run Restaurant endorses the market through tabletop promotions and posters in its restaurant, its website and its Egopantis e-newsletter.
All proceeds from vendor fees go toward the advertising and marketing for the farmers market and other Town Hall events.
A newly formed Shirley Center Farmers Market Committee will work toward growing the market within Shirley and surrounding communities.
With quality vendors, weekly entertainment and an outdoor setting, the Shirley Center Farmers Market is a hub of community activity and a meeting place for friends and neighbors.
