Third Bolton Local Repair Café: Do you have a lamp with a frayed cord? Or a bike with a broken brake? Maybe a shirt or blouse with a loose or missing button? Don’t toss it! Bring it to the third Bolton Repair Café from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.! The event will be held at Davis Hall at the First Parish of Bolton Church at 673 Main St. in Bolton. Knowledgeable volunteers will be available to help make all possible repairs on things like small appliances, computers, lamps, bikes, outdoor power equipment, and clothing — free of charge. (Some small parts may be supplied, such as wire or thread; other parts will be paid for by the owner.) By promoting repairs, Bolton Local wants to help reduce mountains of waste. Organizer Ray Pfau says, “We throw away lots of things that often have almost nothing wrong with them, things that could easily be used again after a simple repair. Unfortunately, many people have forgotten that they can fix things. Repair Café wants to change all that.”
