With the game tied at 1-1 in the top of the eighth, Dan Considine and and Kevin Costello stroked bases-loaded singles as part of a four-run attack to help the Patriots improve to 11-7. Quabbin’s Kyle Judd had a RBI double, which tied the game in the seventh. Sam Ineson was credited with the win.

Bromfield 1

Senior left fielder Caleb Green belted a solo home run in the bottom of the fifth inning for the host Trojans, who fall to 3-14 at the time of publication.

North Middlesex 2

North Middlesex left fielder Emily Rapoza ripped a two-run home run in the first inning, but it was not enough for the visiting Patriots, who drop to 1-13.

Ayer Shirley 9

Hannah Dixon paced the Ayer Shirley offense going 3-for-3 with 2 RBI. Shortstop Natalie Carroll (2-for-3, 1 RBI) knocked in the Panthers’ other run. Ayer Shirley returned to action on Wednesday against Littleton. The result of the game was unavailable at the time of publication.

Home field advantage was not enough to lift the Patriots in Townsend. The Patriots offensive charge was led by Corey DaSilva and Ryan MacDonald, who both collected a goal and assist.

Nicki Wilkinson, Olivia Rubeski and Liv Penney all had two goals in the loss for the Crusaders. Sophomore goalie Maria Antonellis stopped 11 shots in the home loss for Groton-Dunstable.

The Groton-Dunstable Crusaders girls’ track and field team recorded a third-place finish at Saturday’s District-E meet at Lunenburg.
