Harvard native biking cross-country to raise funds for affordable housing
PUBLISHED: | UPDATED:

Harvard native Daniel Turner will be bicycling from Portland, Maine, to Santa Barbara, Calif., this summer with the nonprofit Bike and Build to raise funds and consciousnesses about affordable housing.

On the way, he and his bicycling buddies will also raise some roofs, or otherwise be involved in the construction of affordable homes.

Turner, a national award-winning photojournalist, has volunteered locally and around the world for other nonprofit organizations including the Boston Sea Rovers; Boston Aquarium; Nourish International-Chapel Hill, N.C.; and Kampung Halaman in Yogyakarta, Indonesia.

Turner now lives in Washington, D.C., and works for the nonprofit environmental group Climate Nexus.
