Directions: Drive North on Whiley road from 4-corners near Shaws. Look for the Sargisson Beach Conservation Land sign on you left.

The beach will be opening in 2014 again as “swim at your own risk.” While we may not have lifeguards this year, we want to continue with improving and making the beach as safe as possible. We have a number of projects we need your help with to get it ready!

Come down and meet your fellow neighbors and residents of Groton and help clean-up the beach. Activities: 1. Beach cleanup, raking leaves and pine needles and deposit in the weed harvester trailer 2. Installing new information board in the parking lot and beach area. Installing new signage. 3. Trimming back dead branches along the road and paths. 4. Raking wood chips and cleaning out waterbar drains. 5. Trash pickup in a few areas and along the road. 6. Installing Swim rope and new swim area/no-wake zone buoys.

What to wear: Work gloves, closed-toed shoes/hiking boots, long pants. Hand tools: Leaf rakes, hard rake, shovel, snow shovel, shears for small branches, wheelbarrow or hand cart or tarp if you have access to one. Please sign up using the online form: http://bit.ly/grotonbeachcleanup-May17-2013
