On Monday, April 28, from 7:30 a.m. to 8:00 p.m., Townsend will be holding Elections for Town Government offices which are crucial to the community’s success in the years ahead.
Two of the offices which are most critical to that success are the Board of Selectmen and Town Clerk with a number of candidates seeking the open positions in both of these offices. Given the decisions facing the Town now and in the very near future it is imperative that a vote of the people places the most qualified and appropriate individuals in these roles for the best interests of the Town.
Over the past few weeks the voters have had the opportunity to listen to and read about the desires, attributes and qualifications of each candidate seeking to be elected to these positions. What it really comes down to is who is best suited, qualified, to serve in each role in moving the town forward. Qualified means who best possesses the necessary skills, knowledge and behaviors to do the job.
The two individuals who best possess these qualifications are Carolyn Smart for Selectman and Kathleen Spofford for town clerk. The town has already invested a significant amount of time and money towards the experience both have acquired in the respective offices. So, it only makes sense that the town capitalize on that experience. Please give them your vote on Election Day. Thank you.
