Over 400 parents read the Newsflash. That’s terrific.

The PTO continues to run requests for volunteers for Science Fair, Celebration, Ludo Festival and 4th of July. All of these events take months of planning, which needs to start now. Our children are the beneficiaries.

Please grab a friend and jump in. It’s a great way to meet others and everyone who does volunteer feels the benefit of not only giving their time but having fun and making new friends. There’s a role for all 400-plus. It takes a town to make all these events happen that have lasting memories for everyone.

Each activity has a contact person below. Please join in.

(Science background not necessary.)

The Bromfield Science Fair is on Friday, Feb. 7. Many judges are needed to review the over 100 student projects. Judges are needed between the hours of 3 and 5 p.m.

This is a great opportunity to interact with Bromfield students who have put a lot of work into their projects. If you can participate, please email Ellen Sachs Leicher at Feel free to pass this information onto your friends and neighbors.

If you can participate, also include:

1. Grade of children in Bromfield, if any (we will put you in as a reviewer in a different grade)

2. Science interest (biology, environmental/ecology, chemistry, physics, behavioral, psychology). Please list all areas of interest.

Does your student need a little extra help starting or completing his/her homework? Need a convenient place to meet for group assignments? Prefer to study and work on assignments with friends? Need a quiet place for peer tutoring?

Encourage your child to stop by the Bromfield Homework Center, a convenient, well equipped staffed resource room available for students to use every Monday through Thursday from 2:30-3:30 p.m. (12:15-1:15 p.m. on early release days).

The Homework Center is located at the end of the sixth-grade wing in the Learning Center. There are textbooks, computers and assignment boards for students’ use.

Go to the PTO website soon for more information.
